S2SF stands for Seattle to San Francisco. S2SF is 1000 miles by bicycle to raise funds for The Ndoto Project. The Ndoto Project provides university education and mentorship for young leaders in Kenya to change their country in appropriate ways themselves. They mentor them to give them the tools for enacting change in their communities and nation.
S2SF will be their flagship fundraiser for years to come. 2011 is their first year, and we helped them with a great identity and a beautiful website. Photography from the Oregon coast was provided by Josh Parkinson, and we developed the identity, which can be seen in more detail in our Identity portfolio.
The website was designed to be both beautiful and impactful. A simple menu system continues throughout the site. A sign up form is integrated in, as well as a theme specifically for Riders to have their own fundraising pages, under their own unique sub-domains. The rider pages are managed by the riders themselves, and gives them a sense of ownership over their fundraising and communication activities leading up to and through the bicycle tour.
The main website content can also be managed by the organizers through a user-friendly interface. Donations are also recorded in the administration interface, and allow for tracking as well as manually entering donations done outside the website to keep the progress indicators accurate.
